Alexa Alarm Commands: Control Your Alarm Clock with Your Voice

What is an Alexa alarm command?

An Alexa alarm command is a voice command that you speak in order to interact with the alarm skills on your Alexa device.

How do Alexa alarm commands work?

Like most functions with Alexa, you control alarm functions by starting with your device’s “wake word” (in most cases, this is simply “Alexa”).

What are some examples of Alexa alarm commands?

Let’s start with basic set-up of a single Alexa alarm. Simply say “Alexa, set an alarm for 7AM tomorrow morning.” Tomorrow morning, when your alarm goes off, all you need to do is say “Alexa, stop” and the alarm feature will turn off.

If you need a few extra Zzz’s in the morning, you can utilize the snooze feature to temporarily silence the Alexa alarm. Instead of saying “Alexa, stop,” just say “Alexa, snooze” instead, and enjoy nine additional minutes of sleep before your alarm clock sounds again.

Now that you’ve used your first Alexa alarm command to start your morning, take advantage of these additional commands:

2. Start your morning with music instead of boring alarm sounds. Simply say “Alexa, wake me up to Dolly Parton’s 9-to-5 at 7AM tomorrow morning.”
3. Wake up to light and sound with smart home lighting alarms. If you utilize smart home lighting, such as Alexa Hue Lights, you can have any lights of your choice turn on when your Alarm sounds.
