See how having multiple Echos around the house rescued one VoiceBrewer’s wife
We talk all the time about how helpful Alexa is in our daily lives—but she can also be a lifesaver (literally) in emergency situations.
Having numerous Echos around the house enabled one VoiceBrewer’s wife to call him for help when she fell and broke her hip. I’m so thankful that she’s on the mend.
It’s helpful to keep Echos in or near areas where you might need to call for help—like the bathroom, kitchen, bedroom or your entryway where it can be slippery when there’s bad weather.
One way to make it even easier to reach an emergency contact? Set up Call for Help, which sends texts and calls automatically to your set contact. That way you can just say “Alexa, call for help.”
Pro Tip #1
The most cost effective way to add Alexa to rooms is via a $25 Echo Flex (this is an especially good option if you don’t need high quality sound). If you want one step up, go for an Echo Dot.
Pro Tip #2
Don’t forget that Alexa can keep tabs on your house when you’re out and listen for signs that something’s awry (through the new upgraded Guard, you can also arrange to call emergency services via their 24/7 hub).
