Alexa, set alarm for 7am tomorrow
An Alexa alarm is the best alarm
If you have an Alexa speaker, you should start using Alexa as your alarm clock. The Alexa alarm is without a doubt one of the most useful Alexa features.
It’s easy, you can set multiple alarms (if you’re like me and want one alarm 15 minutes before you need to get up and another to tell you that 15 minutes is up) and the alarm wake-up sound is nice too.
How?
“Alexa, set alarm for 7am tomorrow.”
And “Alexa, stop” when your Alexa alarm clock goes off in the morning.
6 best Alexa alarm pro tips:
Pro Tip #1: You can set recurring Alexa alarms
To set one for every weekday morning, just say “Alexa, set 7am alarm for every weekday.”
You can also do it in the Alexa app by following the below steps:
- Open the Alexa app
- Tap the hamburger icon in the upper left corner
- Tap “Reminders & Alarms”
- Tap the “Alarms” tab to add, update or delete an alarm
Pro Tip #2: Set a music Alexa alarm!
If you want to get fancy, set an Alexa music alarm by saying “Alexa, wake me up to Otis Redding at 7am” (insert song or artist of your choice!).
Pro Tip #3: Set an Alexa light alarm & wake up as your smart lights turn on (NEW Feature!)
Just say “Alexa, set a light alarm for 7am with my bedroom light” (insert the name of your smart light!). You can also tack on an “every weekday” at the end if you’d like to set it as a recurring Alexa alarm.
With this delightful new feature, you can now set an Alexa light alarm that will gradually brighten your bedroom smart lights in the 3 minutes leading up to the time when your Alexa alarm goes off. And there’s no need to worry about oversleeping when you try an Alexa light alarm: your regular Alexa alarm sound will ring at the set time too.
Don’t have smart lights yet? This new Alexa light alarm feature is just one more reason why you should get started today. Plus, the all-new Philips Hue Bluetooth Smart Lights couldn’t be easier to set up. Check out VoiceBrew’s guide to setting up Alexa Hue lights and choosing the best ones for your needs.
Pro Tip #4: You can even have a celebrity nudge you out of bed
Including country singer Blake Shelton, Tara Reid and even Man City Football!
Just follow these steps:
- Open the Alexa app
- Tap the hamburger icon in the upper left corner
- Tap “Reminders & Alarms”
- Tap an alarm to edit it or “Add Alarm” for a new one
- Tap “Sound” then tap to select your choice.
This morning I woke up to Blake Shelton’s “Dang, is it time for a drink yet? I mean coffee? Time to get up y’all!”
Pro Tip #5: Snooze your Alexa alarm
You can snooze! When your alarm goes off, just say “Alexa, snooze” to get in 9 more minutes of shut eye before your alarm goes off again.
Pro Tip #6: See Alexa alarms in the Alexa app
If you’re like me and you want to be 1,000% sure that your Alexa alarm clock is set for the right time so you don’t oversleep (especially if you’re using Alexa as your alarm clock for the first time), check it in the Alexa app:
- Open the Alexa app
- Tap the hamburger icon in the upper left corner
- Tap “Reminders & Alarms”
- Tap the “Alarms” tab to see your alarms
