Now, you can add Fire TV commands to your routines
Alexa can now run Fire TV commands in your routines, which means you can set up a routine to dim the lights and turn on the TV when you say “Alexa, movie night.”
Or you can have her shut off your TV at midnight to help keep you from binging too hard the last season of Schitt’s Creek late into the night again.
Set up these 2 Fire TV routines in less than 2 minutes
If you have a Fire TV device, just tap and click the links below to set up some great TV routines:
- “Alexa, I need a snack” routine — Tap/click here on your smartphone if you want Alexa to pause the TV and turn the lights back up when you say, “Alexa, I need a snack”
- “Alexa, I’m back” routine — Tap/click here on your smartphone if you want her to dim the lights and start the show back up when you say, “Alexa, I’m back”
Remember, to get these routines up and running with your Fire TV and smart light set-up, you’ll need to quickly update them to select your own devices. Check out our quick guide if you need a refresher.
Pro Tip
If you click either of the links above on your computer, you’ll get to a page with a QR code you can scan with your smartphone to start up the routine. It’s probably easier to just click the links from your smartphone to begin with 🙂
