We purchased our first Echo several years ago along with a Wemo plug. We’ve never used the plug. We just bought 3 additional Echo Show 5’s and now are trying to set up the Wemo. I’ve gone through your set-up instructions several times but it’s just not working. Wifi is connected and pw stored. Bluetooth is on. I have tried scanning the bar code on the back, but it can’t seem to get it. I get “try again” messages. I’ve gotten the blue/red lights flashing fine. It just can’t be found. My last two messages were “Unknown Failure – We failed to receive a response from your device (-1:-1:-1:-1)”
Thanks for your message. This one is a bit challenging to answer, but here are a few suggestions.
First, did you install the Wemo app? You should definitely do that first. You may need to create an account.
Second, did you enable the Wemo skill? Once you enable it, you may have to link your Wemo account that you created in the Wemo app.
Wemo has a troubleshooting tech support page that I would suggest reviewing – but if you are still stuck, I would recommend reaching out to them directly for support.
