Can I have two Amazon Echo Dots, with a Smart Plug on each in the same room?

Hi Larry,
You certainly could, but I’m not sure why you would want to.
Typically one Echo device per room is fine – you only need Alexa to be able to hear you from one device.
Perhaps if you can share a bit more about why you want to do this, we can help further.

I want to control a fan on one Dot and a speaker system with the other Dot. The Smart Plug only except one cord.
Can ANYONE answer my above question about the (Fan and Speaker system)!!!
The same Echo Dot should be able to control both items. You would need two smart plugs, though.
If you want to control the speed of the fan, you need to take care to get a smart plug or switch designed for variable output like a dimmer. Careful – some fans don’t like standard dimmers. Is it a ceiling fan or a standalone fan that you just want to turn on/off?
