I’m wondering if I can give my older Echo Dot to my grandchildren.

Great question! You can definitely give your older Echo device to your grandchildren. Here are the steps in order to do so:
Great question! You can definitely give your older Echo device to your grandchildren. Here are the steps in order to do so:
- Open the Alexa app, then go to the “Devices” tab at the bottom,
- Select “Echo & Alexa” at the top.
- Tap on the Echo Dot you wish to give to your grandchildren, then scroll down until you see “Factory Reset”.
Selecting “Factory Reset” will deregister the device from your Amazon account and return it to it’s original factory settings. After deregstering, your device can be registered to another Amazon account.
Then, when giving your Echo to your grandchildren, make sure they have the Alexa app and their WiFi password to complete the setup in their own home!
