I’m having some trouble with my Alexa system – unfortunately, it does not seem maintain an equal sound level. It’s very similar to how some TV commercials are louder than the show you are watching. It seems to be the same with music – recordings are made at different frequencies in the studios which translates to an up and down volume from one recording to another.
This also seems to be the case with games – the volume is recorded and broadcast in a higher frequency. Why? I am not sure except maybe it all depends on the recording studios.
I can say from personal experience that this is a very annoying problem. Certain genres can be especially susceptible to this issue – for instance, Classical music – which may have a variety of volumes throughout one song.
Unfortunately, there doesn’t seem to be any support within the Alexa settings to address this currently.
Hopefully this will be addressed in the future!
Same issue/Same frustration, sent a few weeks back.

Katherine,
I have a simple request:
Is there a way to have Alexa maintain a regulated sound level. I am an avid listener to music on Alexa typically from Amazon play list & many different artists. I am forever having to say “Alexa volume up/Alexa volume down” even for the same Artist or even sometimes within the same song.
Now I am not trying to create bland music. The regulated output should just be a more narrow range. When I am at my desk listening to Pandora thru remote speakers with full range, I never have to adjust volume levels once I have set the general loudness level I want.
Well, if there is a way, I’d love to know how.
Thank you,
Mel
