I’m looking at implementing Alexa in a new house, but I’m concerned about basic security.
How do I keep someone from standing outside by the window and saying “Alexa, turn alarm off” or “Alexa, unlock the front door”
Since I only have 4 choices in wake words, how do I keep a whole house system secure?

Hi Bill,
This is an excellent question because it shows you’re putting thought into your home security and being wise about passwords.
The answer is that the security product/service you purchase will have some authentication methods involved – it may require a PIN code or it may be a biometric, but it would depend on the individual system you have purchased.
If you’re looking at a particular brand or model, I would recommend calling the manufacturer’s sales support line ahead of time, asking how it integrates with Alexa, and how to prevent someone from compromising the system using their voice.
