When you first enable Drop In in the Alexa app, a box pops up that says “Interactions with Alexa, and motion sensors on Echo show, will be used to show a recently active indicator that lets household members know whether you’re available.”
Based on this information, I suspect that when you Drop In on a person that’s not a member of your household, it sends the call to the last Echo device that was interacted with.
Perhaps this is something Amazon will clarify or update in the near future!
I am afraid you are right. Its a shame they don’t have the technology to allow us to do this.
Right now we sometimes have to text the other to drop in. Our alexa devices are in one house our daughters are in two.
You would think Amazon would be smart enough to fix this.
