I have three Echo Dots which I set to Brief Mode. However, one of them does not seem to have Brief Mode enabled – it still responds to a command by saying “OK.”

Hi Susan,
Sorry you’re experiencing that! Here are some things to try.
First, ensure that you do, in fact, have Brief Mode turned on for that device. If so, try disabling Brief Mode, waiting a few minutes, and turning Brief Mode back on again.
Second, try powering off the device for a few minutes by unplugging it, then plugging it back in.
If Brief Mode still isn’t working properly, you can try a hard reset (wiping it to be the way it came from the factory). To do that, follow these steps:

- Wait until the light ring turns orange (about 20 seconds).

I’ve just had the same problem tried everything including hard reset and nothing. As a last resort I said to the problematic echo dot , “Alexa , turn on Brief mode and she responded by switching back to Brief mode . No Problem
