Here’s what you need to do:

Activate Guard in the Alexa app by following a few simple steps (takes 30 seconds or less). The next time you leave home, say “Alexa, I’m leaving” to turn on “Away Mode” (this will prompt Alexa to turn on Guard and listen for trouble)When you arrive home, say “Alexa, I’m home” to turn off “Away Mode”

Pro Tip: You can also easily turn on “Away Mode” in the Alexa app if you forget to do it on your way out of the house.
