2 Surprisingly Helpful Alexa Smart Light Hacks
#1. Put your lights into a group to turn them on and off together
Put your living room smart lights into a “living room lights” group and your bedroom lights into a “bedroom lights” group. That way you can just say “Alexa, turn on living room lights” or “Alexa, turn off bedroom lights” (great when you’re dozing off to sleep!). To see how, tap/click here (it’s super easy).
Pro Tip: You can also add smart plugs to a group along with your smart lights.
#2. Create an Alexa routine to more easily dim smart lights
For example, you could set up an Alexa routine that triggers when you say “Alexa, it’s bedtime” and dims each of your bedroom smart lights to your preferred setting.Tap/click here to see how to easily set up an Alexa routine.
Pro Tip: If you have 3 smart lights, you’ll need to add dimming each one as a separate routine action. But you only have to set up the routine once, so it’s much easier than asking Alexa to dim each of your smart lights separately every night.
