Pack Like a Pro for This Year’s Holiday Travel
Just say “Alexa, create a packing list” to get started
To add items, say “Alexa, add a bathing suit, toothbrush and holiday gifts to my packing list” (yep, you can add multiple items at a time!). I love using an Alexa packing list because I can easily add items as I remember them over the course of a few days without the hassle of having to dig up a list in my phone every time I want to add something (or keep track on scraps of paper!).
When you’re ready to pack: To access your packing list in the Alexa app, tap the hamburger icon (3 horizontal lines) > tap “Lists & Notes” > tap “Packing” and you’ll see all the items on your list. Once you’ve packed an item, check it off your list by tapping the white circle next to it.
Pro Tip: Don’t forget to bring along your Echo Buds so you have Alexa access during your travels. Don’t have the Buds yet? An Echo Dot will easily fit in your suitcase!
4 more essential Alexa travel tips:
- Know the weather forecast at your destination before you pack — Just say “Alexa, what’s the weather over the next week in Miami (insert your destination)”
- Check the traffic before you leave — Whether you’re going to the airport or driving to your holiday destination, Alexa can help check the traffic. Say “Alexa, what’s the traffic to Laguardia Airport (insert your destination)”
- Track flights — Check if your flight is on time or the flight status for your holiday visitors by saying “Alexa ask Kayak to track Delta 2756 (insert airline and flight number)” or “Alexa, ask Kayak to notify me when Delta 2756 lands”
- Request a ride to the airport with the Uber Alexa skill — Once you link your account, simply say “Alexa, ask Uber to request a ride.” Tap/click here for instructions if you’ve never used the Alexa Uber skill before
