When you’re ready to order a Lyft but your hands are still busy getting ready, use Alexa to order your ride!
The Lyft skill can help you get a ride from your home address, see if it’s currently prime time, find how far away a ride is from your home address, or tip your last driver.
3 easy steps to call an Lyft with Alexa:
#1. Enable the Lyft Alexa skill
Tap/click here and then tap the Enable button.
#2. Link your Lyft account
After you tap “Enable” in Step #1, you’ll land on an account linking page where you can will sign in to link the Lyft Alexa Skill to your Lyft account.
You’ll need to use your mobile number to connect the Lyft skill to your Lyft account. Once you enter your mobile number, you’ll be texted a code to enter into the Lyft app. Once you enter the code, you’ll be prompted to enter your email address to verify your account, then accept the required permissions to complete the setup! You’ll see a message saying “Lyft has been successful linked.”
#3. Call an Lyft ride using your voice!
Once you’re set up with the Lyft Alexa skill, you can say “Alexa, ask Lyft for a ride.”
The Lyft Alexa skill will always send a car to your the “Home” address set inside your Lyft app. It will use the “Work” address set inside the Lyft app as well.
Here are a few more handy commands:
- “Alexa, ask Lyft to call a line to work for 2 people”
- “Alexa, ask Lyft where my ride is”
- “Alexa, tell Lyft to rate my driver with 3 stars”
- “Alexa, ask Lyft how long getting a line to work will take”
