Your VoiceBrew newsletters will now include a great thing to try with Google Assistant
I love using Google Assistant side by side with Alexa!
So starting today, you’ll get Google Assistant AND Alexa tips!
I couldn’t be more excited about this new chapter for VoiceBrew 🙂
I love using Google Assistant alongside Alexa because I rely on each for different kinds of tasks, and they perfectly complement each other.
You might not realize that… Google Assistant is everywhere!
If you’re primarily an Alexa user, you might not realize that Google Assistant is all around you!
To name a few places you’ll find Assistant…
- On your phone (both Android and iOS — yes, even iPhone people can easily access Assistant for free via the Assistant app!)
- In Google’s Nest speakers and smart displays (of course!)
- In the Google apps you use every day like Chrome and Google Maps
- In cars compatible with Android Auto, many TVs, laptops, wearables and more!
So even if you don’t have Nest speakers or an Android phone with Google Assistant alongside your Alexa speakers, you can (and should!) start using Google Assistant in your everyday life, too!
And you can start today with the tip in the section below 🙂
How to play a song by… singing a little bit of it!
Just ask Google Assistant!
The next time you want to play that song that’s been stuck in your head, but you can’t remember what it’s called…
Just say “Hey Google,” sing a few lyrics of the song, and then “what’s this song?”
Google Assistant will figure out the name of the song and even pull up a link to its YouTube video so you can turn it on if you’d like 🙂
If you don’t already have access to Google Assistant
Download the free Assistant app right now!
It’ll take you less than 1 minute, and you’ll use it all the time (including when you try our Google Assistant tips!).
Pro Tip
This feature also works if you hum or whistle the song — unfortunately, I am a terrible hummer (and can’t whistle!) so not even the smartest AI could figure out what song I’m humming, but you should give it a try!
