It’s easy to set it up with Google Duo
Google Duo lets you make calls from your Nest speakers and smart displays using your existing phone number. (Yep, the one all your friends have for you in their contacts!)
It’s easy to set it up!
- Download the Google Duo app to your phone and link it to the same Google account that you use with your display
- Open the Google Home app
- Tap your device
- Tap “Settings” on the top right then “Voice & Video Calling”
- Tap “Call Providers”
- Under “Your Own Number,” input your phone number, and you’re done!
To make a call from your Nest speaker or smart display, say “Hey Google call (insert the name of your contact) on Duo.”
Haven’t connected your contacts to Google Assistant yet? To do so:
- Open the Google Home app
- Tap “Settings”
- Tap “Voice and video calls”
- Tap “Call Providers” and turn on “Contacts Uploading”
Pro Tip
If someone uses a smartphone or Hub Max to call you via Duo, you can see them if you have a the Nest Hub Max or Nest Hub display (even though the Nest Hub doesn’t have a camera). That’s cool!!
