Here’s what happens when you’re kinder to your Assistant

There’s been a lot of debate about whether using voice assistants will make people ruder. If you keep saying things like “Hey Google, turn off the lights,” maybe you’ll stop using the social niceties with real-life people as well.

Fortunately, Google Assistant is trying to bring back politeness. If you’re polite to Assistant, Assistant will be polite back 🙂

When I thanked Assistant recently for turning on my air conditioner, I got the response, “Of course, it’s my favorite thing to do.” She’s also responded with phrases like “My pleasure” 🙂
