You can set up your Assistant to do it!
Ever remember you need to make a call—and you don’t have your smartphone handy? It’s easy to make a call with your Google Nest or display—so you can call using your cell number, hands free (and without your phone).
It’s easy to set it up!
- Download the Google Duo app to your phone and link it to the same Google account that you use with your display
- Open the Google Home app
- Tap your device
- Tap “Settings” on the top right then “Voice & Video Calling”
- Tap “Call Providers”
- Under “Your Own Number,” input your phone number, and you’re done!
To make a call from your Nest speaker or smart display, say “Hey Google call (insert the name of your contact) on Duo.”
Haven’t connected your contacts to Google Assistant yet? To do so:
- Open the Google Home app
- Tap “Settings”
- Tap “Voice and video calls”
- Tap “Call Providers” and turn on “Contacts Uploading”
