There’s an easy fix for that!
Sometimes, your Google Assistant may hear things you don’t want it to hear—or pipe in even though you didn’t say “Hey Google.”
(Or—maybe in your noisy household, Assistant can’t hear you!)
There are a few quick fixes for you:
To adjust your Google Nest speaker or smart display’s “Hey Google” sensitivity:
- Open the Assistant app
- Tap the circle in the upper right corner with your image or initial
- Scroll down to “Hey Google” sensitivity at the very bottom
- Tap the Nest smart display or speaker for which you want to adjust sensitivity
- Adjust the sensitivity up or down by dragging the blue dot
To delete activity you didn’t want Assistant to hear:
- Open the Assistant App
- Tap “Manage Your Google Account”
- Tap “Manage your data and personalization”
- Tap “Web & App Activity”
- Tap “Manage activity”
- Then scroll through activity and click the X next to anything you don’t want recorded
