Just say, “Hey Google, give me driving directions to Central Park Zoo”
Now that we’re going places, you definitely want to be using Google Assistant with Google maps to find the best route.
All you have to do is pull up Assistant on your phone and say “Hey Google, give me driving directions to…” and insert your destination.
Assistant will show you the very best route to any local spot (restaurant, business, school, you name it), saved address (like mom’s house) or street address based on current traffic. (You can tap here for more on how useful Google Assistant with Maps can be!)
Privacy Pro Tip: Google remembers everything—including every location where you ask for directions, and everywhere you’ve been. You can find (and, if you’d like, delete) all of that in your Google Assistant app.
- Just tap the button with your initial or image in the upper right corner, then tap “Your data in the assistant.”
- Down the page, tap “Google activity.”
- Tap “Location History.”
- Tap “Manage activity,” and you can tap through and see where you were on certain days.
- Tap the 3 dots at the top of the page, then Settings and Privacy, where you can decide to delete all Location History, a range of locations or dates, or make other tweaks to it.
