Assistant has started to let you tweak your alarms and timers more easily
You’ve probably found that Google Assistant doesn’t always understand you quite like a human would. Like if you said “Set a 15-minute—oops, 20-minute timer,” Assistant may not have understood what you want…. until now!
New tech that’s spread to Nest speakers (but not smart displays or Android phones yet) may understand you a little bit better. You can say “Set an alarm for 7 a.m.,” then say “Move my alarm 30 minutes later,” and Assistant will make that shift!
I also was able to correct my timer mid-sentence like above.
With named timers, when I set a “baking cookies” timer and then asked Assistant to cancel my “cookie” timer, it did!
(But when I tried to add two minutes to my “cookie” timer, sometimes Assistant was able to and sometimes it got confused — though she had an adorable cheering sound when I set a “baking cookies timer” that made me really want to bake cookies. 🙂
Soon, this will roll out to your Assistant app and your Nest Hub screens, but for now, your Nest smart speaker may understand you a little bit better.
