Say, “Alexa, help me sleep” and she’ll offer different avenues for remedies, letting you to choose from Audible, Sleep Sounds, Podcasts, Bedtime Stories or Relaxation Skills.
If you like falling asleep to peaceful ambient noise (like me!), choose Sleep Sounds, and you can choose from recorded background sounds like Thunderstorm, Ocean, Forest and Jungle.
Choose Podcasts if you have a sleep-related podcast you like. Sleep With Me is a good one, with a deep-voiced host who languidly talks about random subjects that you don’t really need to pay attention to; it’s like dozing off while overhearing a lecture in the next room.
If you choose Audible, Alexa will take you to Audible’s sleep-designed programming including meditation, sound baths and more. (Note the new Audible Sleep Collection is available with a paid Audible subscription.)
Pro Tip: You can also get help with drowse-inducing sounds from Amazon Music. Say, “Alexa, play ocean sounds for 20 minutes” and she’ll choose a related recording from Amazon Music and play it on repeat until the time is up. Hopefully you’ll be sound asleep by then 🙂
