It’s a super easy way to check in on things when you’re not home
Ever worry that you left the oven on or want to check in on a pet while you’re away?
Now you can turn your own Echo Show into a built-in home monitor, so you can pop into your home when you’re out.
To enable this function, you need to go to your actual Echo Show device and follow these steps:
- Tap the home screen, then swipe down on the arrow that appears in the top center of the screen.
- Scroll down and tap Camera.
- Find Home Monitoring and toggle the on switch.
- You’ll need to verify your account with your password.
To pop in and see what’s happening, tap “Devices” in the Alexa app, then tap “Cameras.” Choose your Echo Show display, and in about 10 seconds, you’ll see what’s going on there.
Pro Tip #1: You can also hear what’s going on, and talk to your home—you just need to tap the “Speaker” and “Mic” buttons to hear and speak, respectively.
Pro Tip #2: If you have an Echo Show 10, you can pan pan right and left, which is pretty cool!
