Just say, “Alexa, what are the top stocks right now?”

Alexa may not be able to help you rebalance your stock portfolio (yet), but she’s great at telling you what’s happening with the stock market.

All you have to say is “Alexa, what are the top stocks right now?” and she’ll give you the scoop on the day’s three biggest movers and shakers, and how many percentage points up they are.

(On the day I wrote this email, it was Wayfair, Tesla, and Moderna — the last one, likely because of good news on the vaccine front.)

Pro Tip #1

Want to understand why those particular stocks are on the rise? Just say “Alexa, open Bloomberg Market Minute” for the latest business news.

You can also keep tabs on your investments

You can also ask Alexa about any major market indices or even individual stocks, and she’ll tell you the price and percentage it’s up or down since the previous day’s close. Try saying:

• “What’s the price of Dow Jones?”
• “What’s the price of the S&P?”
• “What’s the stock price of Boeing?” (insert the name of any company)
• “Alexa, what’s the price of Bitcoin?”

The stock market has been on a crazy roller coaster ride in recent weeks — so it’s more useful than ever to get updated prices just by asking.

If you have an Echo Show, you’ll see a nice line chart showing the security’s price over the day’s trading hours.
