The Amazon Alexa app runs just like an Echo, wherever you go
Just ask Siri or Google Assistant to open the Alexa app
Siri’s great and all, but sometimes you just need to ask Alexa instead — like if you suddenly remember something you need to reorder when you’re out or you want to drop in on one of your Echos to ask your spouse a question.
Now, you can talk to Alexa on your phone without a single tap!
All you have to do is ask your phone’s assistant (Siri or Google Assistant) to open the Alexa app. Then just chat with Alexa like you would on your Echo speaker!
It’s like having an Echo with you no matter where you go.
I’m so excited about this new feature because now everyone can access Alexa hands-free anywhere — whether you’re in a room without an Echo or on your morning walk.
Pro Tip #1
Lots of features offer helpful visuals on your phone’s screen — just like if you were chatting with Alexa via your Echo Show. (Ask for the weather to see how nice it is!)
Do This Now: Enable Alexa hands-free on your phone
- Open the Alexa app
- Tap “More” on the bottom right of the screen
- Click “Settings”
- Tap “Alexa on this phone”
- Toggle on “Enable Alexa Hands-Free”
- Now, when you want to get Alexa, simply say “Hey Siri/Google, open the Alexa app” and then “Alexa” and your request!
Pro Tip #2
Make sure you’re using the latest version of the Alexa app to use this brand new feature.
