See if you can name it in just a few notes
Few things bring a group together like music and games. Which is why we love this oldie-but-goodie, Song Quiz. It’s perfect for summer parties, sitting around the table after dinner, or family gatherings with groups of all ages.
The premise is simple: Alexa will play a few seconds of a song, and you guess the name or artist.
You get 10 points for each correct answer, and an extra 10 bonus points if you get both right. And with a library that spans the 1960s to today, it’s great for multigenerational groups—everyone gets a chance to choose their favorite decade, testing wits and sharing tunes.
To play:
- Say, “Alexa, play Song Quiz.”
- She’ll ask how many people are playing; you can play solo or up to 4.
- Then, choose a decade, from the 1960s thru 2010s
Pro Tip: If you find you end up playing a lot of it—warning, that’s easily done!—you’ll end up recycling through the music library on the free version. In that case, you can upgrade to Song Quiz Gold Edition, for $7.99 per month. They add new music every month, with categories like 80s Hair Metal or 90s Hip Hop.
