Alexa has a lot of ideas 🙂

Holiday shopping is great when you find the right gift. But if you’re having trouble honing in on ideas, let Alexa help!

Say, “Alexa, show me gifts for Home Cooks.” This works best on Echo Show, where she’ll recommend an item, showing the image, description and cost onscreen. Via speakers or the app, she’ll give you a verbal description. 

Then you can ask for more details, add to cart, or buy it. Or move on and ask for details on number 2.

Her suggestions led me to things I wouldn’t have thought of on my own, like a cool bamboo charcuterie set for my sister-in-law, and a portable water filtration system for my hiking pal.

They also tend towards inexpensive; nothing she recommended was over $100, and most were under $40. 

The ideas are varied, too. Try gifts for coworkers, funny gifts, gifts for readers, even ideas for White Elephant swaps. 

Pro Tip: Pay special attention to estimated arrival dates—this year more than ever! It will be noted on the display, right next to the price.
