Just set up an Alexa Household
My husband and I both use Alexa. We each have our own music accounts, listen to different flash briefings, maintain separate Alexa lists. This all works seamlessly thanks to our Amazon Household set-up!
With an Amazon Household, you can connect multiple Amazon accounts to your Alexa. That means each person gets their own Alexa experience—with customized settings for music, news, favorite sports teams, calendar, email, and reminders.
So if you and your partner want to listen to different music at the same time on different Echo speakers, you can do that!
You just have to say “Alexa, switch accounts” to toggle between different accounts in your Amazon Household. Yep, it’s that easy!
Do This Now: Set up an Amazon Household in 1 minute
- Click to the Amazon Household page on the website
- Click “Add Adult”
- Type in your partner’s name and email address
- Your partner will need to accept the invitation
Set up accounts for teens or kids
You can also set up accounts for 2 teens and 2 kids on your account. You’ll set them up on the same Amazon Household page where you added the adult account.
Teens can shop on their own—and you’ll get final approval on their purchases, while you’ll be able to control screen time and access for kids with Amazon Kids+.
On the Amazon Household page, click the button for teen or child, then follow the prompts to set up your controls.
