Just say, “Alexa, recommend me a book”
One of my favorite things about summer is having a little more time to read for fun. Alexa has a number of ways to help you find your next great read!
Say “Alexa, recommend me a book.” She’ll use your purchase history to make personalized suggestions, giving you the title, author and the cost of a Kindle edition.
If you want more details on her book pick, just say, “Alexa, give me a summary” and she’ll read from the book jacket.
If you want to move on to another book, say “Alexa, next recommendation.”
Alexa knows that I love travel books and suggested a few local guidebooks, as well as The Bird Way by Jennifer Ackerman, which I’d heard about but totally forgot to buy. I just got a bird feeder, so birds have recently become a topic of interest 🙂
You can also ask “Alexa, what are the best books of the year so far?” and she’ll give you suggestions from the Amazon.com page of the same name.
Pro Tip: If Alexa isn’t giving you suggestions you like, try playing with the wording, saying something like “Alexa, recommend a great historic novel.” Sometimes she’ll pull from your buying history, and sometimes she’ll pull from top reviews or best sellers.
