Alexa can recommend a great podcast for you to try
I love listening to podcasts during my daily walks—but with so many of them out there, and more debuting each week, it’s impossible to keep up with them all!
Alexa can help by suggesting podcasts tailored to your liking.
- Stick to your favorite genre. If you have a genre you like, ask Alexa for suggestions. Just say “Alexa, play a true-crime podcast” and she’ll suggest something like Dirty John, and give a short synopsis of the show so you know what it’s about.
- Go for a mood. Say “Alexa, play a funny podcast,” and she may take you to something like The Ron Burgundy Podcast, where comedian Will Ferrell runs a call-in show as his cluelessly charming character from Anchorman.
- Find out what’s popular. Say “Alexa, play a top-rated podcast” and she may take you to WorkLife with Adam Grant, The Happiness Lab, or The Way I Heard It with Mike Rowe.
Pro Tip #1: If you don’t like her pick, just say, “Alexa, suggest another podcast” and she’ll oblige. Or reword it slightly, to get a different result. Say “Alexa, play a popular podcast” and she may take you to NPR’s Fresh Air with Terry Gross. She pulls from sources including Amazon Music, Apple Podcasts, Spotify and more so you won’t run out of options.
Pro Tip #2: Many podcasts come with preview ads before the actual show starts; that’s how they stay on the air.
