Alexa to the rescue!
OK, Alexa isn’t quite the same thing as a visit to the spa—she doesn’t have arms for one thing, so she can’t give you a massage.
But she does have some cool features that can help you relax. So why not take some time for yourself this week and tee up a 20 minute “spa day” using the 3 tricks below…
- Lighting. Got smart bulbs? Then make the most of them to up relaxation. Most smart bulbs come with an array of color choices. Studies have shown that blue light induces relaxation three times faster than regular white light. Say, “Alexa, make light blue” and she’ll get you started.
- Music. Alexa has loads of choices for relaxing music, whether via Amazon Music or your favorite streaming service. Say “Alexa, play spa music” and she’ll go to the Spa station on Amazon Music, or request something specific like waterfall sounds.
- Meditation. Alexa can lead you in timed mediation. Say “Alexa, open Guided Meditation Skills” and she has a few options. Guided Meditation: Mediation of the Day offers short (under 10 minutes) easy meditations you can do in a chair. Or you may want to enable the skill from Headspace, a leading subscription app that gradually increases the length of each session.
