Just say, “Alexa, set turkey timer!”
Thanksgiving may look a little different this year—and for a lot of us, that might mean making the whole dinner yourself, rather than potlucking your feast with your favorite people.
If you’re worried about getting all of those dishes to the table at just the right time, set a series of Alexa timers so you don’t forget to put in the potatoes or pull out the turkey.
Just say “Alexa, set apple pie timer!” or “Alexa, set sweet potato timer!” to set a timer for any dish.
Pro Tip
Reminders can also be a big help. Set them up days in advance to remind you to take the turkey out of the freezer, and when to start the whole meal to ensure it’s ready on time. (They won’t beep nonstop like a timer!)
Tips for using timers like a pro
- Extend timers before they end: Say “Alexa, extend stuffing timer by 5 minutes.” You can also extend the timer when it goes off—just say “Alexa, extend timer 2 minutes”
- Find out how much time is left on your timers: Just say “Alexa, what are my timers?” and Alexa will give you an update on how much time is left on each one (she’ll show them on the screen with an Echo Show!)
- See and change timers in the Alexa app: In the app > tap “More” > Tap “Alarms & Timers” > Tap “Timers”
