You can pay for your gas without leaving your car
The next time you buy gas, you don’t have to bring your credit card or cash with you. Just ask Alexa to spring for it!
All you need is an Amazon account and an Alexa enabled device in your car (like the Echo Auto or your phone app), and your local Exxon or Mobil station.
This is going to be so great on those cold winter days! You won’t have to wait outside while your credit card is being approved. (And right now, when we’re all trying to social distance, minimizing time around other people is key.)
How to pay for gas with Alexa
This feature only works at Exxon and Mobil stations for now, but there are 11,500 participating stations around the U.S. Here’s how to do it:
- Open the Alexa app, or use your in-car Alexa-enabled device
- Say “Alexa, pay for gas”
- Make sure that Alexa has the right station and pump number selected
- Give Alexa permission to unlock the pump
- Get out of your car, choose your fuel type, and start pumping
Pro Tip
Alexa pays for the gas using Amazon Pay, which accesses the credit card you have set up in your Amazon account. You’ll need to go to Amazon.com and change cards if you want to use a different one than your default card.
