So you never have to miss a word again 🙂
If you use Alexa to make video calls, you’re probably going to want to check out her awesome new call captioning feature.
With call captioning enabled, Alexa will a run a transcript of what’s being said along the bottom of your Echo Show’s screen — and it’s pretty close to real time!
Here’s how to enable call captioning in 30 sec or less:
- Pull down from the top center of your Echo Show’s screen to access the Display menu
- Tap “Settings” on the far right and scroll down to “Accessibility” (near the bottom)
- Scroll down to “Call Captioning” and toggle the switch to enable.
- If you want, you can adjust the font, font size, color, and visibility of the background bar that runs behind the captioned text
Pro Tip #1
The feature is accessible for Echo Show 2nd Generation, Echo Show 5, Echo Show 8 and Echo Spot.
Pro Tip #2
This is a game-changing feature for users with hearing impairments. It’s also great for the rest of us because who doesn’t sometimes miss what’s just been said?!
