Just set up Alexa news notifications from NPR or Fox
Alexa can alert you when something big happens!
The headlines will flash across the screen of your Echo Show. And if you have a regular Echo or Dot, you’ll get a yellow notification ring and can just say “Alexa, what are my notifications?” to find out the headlines.
For instance, today I got notified when the World Health Organization announced that they were looking into Russia’s newly announced vaccine, and yesterday when Lebanon’s government officials resigned.
Want the details? Just follow Alexa’s prompt to get more details on the headline.
I’m excited for this new feature because it’s been requested by so many VoiceBrewers!
Pro Tip #1
More news organizations are on the way in case NPR or Fox aren’t your thing.
Pro Tip #2
Don’t worry, you won’t be getting tons of news notifications — for the past few days, I’ve only gotten one or two per day.
Do This Now: Easily set up news notifications!
- Open the Alexa App
- Tap “More” on the bottom right corner
- Tap “Settings”
- Tap “Notifications”
- Tap “News”
- Toggle on Alexa device notifications, then select one (or both!) of the sources: NPR or Fox
