And you can even do it from the beach!
Shopping for school supplies is a time-honored tradition, and let’s admit it: It can be an annual ordeal as well.
Instead of fighting the crowds to comb through picked-through shelves at a big-box store, Alexa can help you do it from the comfort of your couch (or beach chair!). Here are three ways to approach it.
- To order from a list. Many schools provide a list of what their students will need. If that’s the case, it couldn’t be easier to shop. Just say, “Alexa, shop for Trapper Keepers.” (or whatever you need) and she’ll suggest an option, giving details and price. You can add to the cart, or scroll through the other options displayed on your Echo Show screen.
- To get ideas based on preferences. If you don’t know what you want, you can say, “Alexa, order school supplies.” She’ll give suggestions based on your order history, and you can scroll through for more options.
- To get suggestions by grade. You can also get suggestions by grade. Say, “Alexa, order school supplies for college” and she’ll pull up options like notebooks or a set of sticky notes. If you like what you see, say “Add option 1 to my cart,” and if you don’t, just scroll through to other options.
Pro Tip: Amazon uses your feedback to help tailor suggestions. When Alexa makes a suggestion, you often have the chance to rate her selection with a thumbs up or thumbs down—so do it! It’s a great way to let her know what you like, so she can adjust preferences for future requests.
