Did you know your lights could be your alarm?

An alarm is an alarm is an alarm, right? Wrong! With Alexa, you can customize it way beyond alarm tone. Here are four of my favorites.
#1. Set recurring alarms
I used to set my alarm every night for the next morning. Which means you’re going to sleep thinking about when you’re going to wake up. Instead, set up a recurring weekday alarm. Just say, “Alexa, set a 7am alarm for weekdays.”
#2. Wake up to music
Kick off your day with a favorite artist or song. Just say, “Alexa, wake me up at 7 am to ‘Lovely Day’ (whatever song you want)” and your alarm will go off with the tune at the appointed time!
#3. Use your lights, too
Need a little light to get you going? Tell Alexa to turn on the lights when your alarm goes off. Just say, “Alexa, set a light alarm for 7 am” and she’ll turn on your smart bulb. (If you have multiple smart lights, be sure to tell her which one you’d like to use.)
#4. Double check which alarms you have set up
You can check it in the app any time.
- Open the Alexa app and tap “More” in the bottom right
- Tap “Alarms & Timers”
- There, you’ll see all of your alarms. You can pause any of them temporarily by using the toggle switch (blue means active, white means off), or just slide left to delete.
