Alexa, set 8 minute timer for the pasta.
Name Alexa timers! It’s easy.
If you’re cooking a big meal, you’ll probably need to set multiple timers.
With Alexa, no more punching in timers on your stove, phone and maybe even an old-fashioned wind-up timer (I was using something like this until very recently!). Alexa can easily handle multiple timers.
Even better, Alexa lets you name your timers so you don’t have to remember that the 30 minute Alexa timer is for the carrots, while the 40 minute Alexa timer is for the potatoes.
How?
“Alexa, set 30 minute timer for the carrots” and “Alexa, set 8 minute timer for the pasta.”
When the pasta timer is up, Alexa will say “your pasta timer is done.” All you have to say is “Alexa, stop” to turn it off.
Pro Tips
Pro Tip #1
If you want to avoid having to say “Alexa, stop” to turn off your Alexa timers, you can set a reminder as your Alexa timer instead. Just say “Alexa, set reminder for 8 minutes for the pasta.” Alexa will announce twice that the time is up 8 minutes later but not repeatedly beep like an Alexa timer.
Pro Tip #2
The Echo Wall Clock will show your Alexa timers, which is pretty cool. The Echo Show will also show them on its screen. You can see both in the photo at the top of this post.
