Alexa deals can help shoppers save money on Amazon. Alexa’s new feature alerts you when discounts are available.
Saving Money with Alexa Deals
Who doesn’t like saving money? Not to go down an economic rabbit hole and rant about inflation, but rising prices are everywhere. Rents are skyrocketing and every trip to the pump is painful.
If you’re looking for ways to hold on to more of your hard-earned cash, then you’re in for a treat today because Amazon just added an amazing new feature to Alexa.
For all of you online shoppers out there, listen up. Alexa can now send alerts when certain products are about to get a price cut. That’s right, the digital assistant will notify users about upcoming Amazon deals up to 24 hours in advance.
This amazing skill was introduced last week and is part of Amazon’s push to make shopping with Alexa easier and more efficient. Here’s how it works.
How to Enable Alerts
First of all, you’ll need to become an Amazon Prime Member if you aren’t already. Right now this feature is also only available for customers in the US.
After making sure your Alexa app is updated on your phone, open it up, and click the hamburger icon that says “More” in the bottom right. Select “Settings” > “Notifications” > Amazon Shopping. Under “Shopping Recommendations” tick the box that says “deal recommendations”.
Next, you’ll need to have an eligible item added to your wish list or cart. Go find a few things you like and throw them in your cart, but don’t buy them yet.
If and when the price of an item on your wish list or in your cart is discounted, you’ll see a Yellow Ring light or a pop-up notification on your Echo device. Go ahead and ask, “Alexa, what are my notifications?”
Alexa will not only tell you when a deal is about to go live, she’ll also help you buy it. If you’re comfortable with the purchase, all you’ll have to do is say, “Alexa, buy it for me” and the digital assistant will pull the trigger when the deal is available.
If the order is successful, you’ll be charged and you’ll receive a notification. From there you can ask Alexa to track the purchase by asking, “Alexa, where’s my stuff?”
Not The Hero We Deserve, But The Hero We Need
So, there you have it. Alexa may not be the hero we deserve as James Gordon says in The Dark Knight Rises, but she’s certainly the hero we need. With inflation running rampant and prices only continuing to rise, this neat little trick can help you save money on the things you want and love.
