Play Price Is Right with Alexa!

Can you believe it—America’s longest running TV game show, The Price is Right, celebrates 50 years in 2022! Which means generations of us have watched the game, either with creator Bob Barker or current host Drew Carey.  

To celebrate the occasion, game developer Volley partnered with the show to create an audio version that’s super fun and true to life. Instead of grocery store items, this version is based on real-time pricing of things on sale on Amazon, from dog treats to flat-screen TVs. 

Bonus: The game is voice only so you can play on your Echo smart speakers as well as screen devices like Echo Show and Fire TV.

To start, say “Alexa, launch The Price is Right.”

The iconic theme music plays as you select from 1 to 4 players. If you’re a solo player, they’ll create an opponent for you. 

For each round, you’ll listen to the description of product, which is also pictured if you have a screen. 

You guess the price, rounding up to a whole number. The closest to the real price without going over gets points, and whoever gets the most points, wins. (Take that, virtual Anthony!)

In between rounds, you get to try other Price Is Right games like Plinko,where you win coins to drop down a game board and score extra points, or Bargain Game, where you guess which item is most discounted.

Each round takes about 5 minutes, so it’s a fun break when you need a quick pick me up. The cheery music, retro graphics and crowd noises put a smile on your face, whether you win or lose.
