It’s a nice way to wake up in the morning!
Music makes my mood, so why not use it to kick off a great day?
Just say, “Alexa, set an alarm for 7 am to Aretha Franklin.” She’ll then set that as your tone for that wakeup time. When the alarm goes off, instead of a tone you’ll hear the Queen of Soul 🙂
If you want a particular song rather than an artist, you can do that too. Say, “Alexa, set an alarm for 7 am to ‘Lovely Day’ by Bill Withers.” The next morning, you’ll be woken up to the tune — a perfect way to start your day!
Pro Tip 1: When you want to change it up, it’s easy to pick another song, or go back to a traditional alarm sound.
- Go to the Alexa app and tap More on the bottom right.
- Tap Alarms and Times.
- Choose a particular alarm that you want to edit by tapping that alarm, then scrolling down. Instead of Sound, it will say Music, with the artist you have selected. If you want to change it, just tap on Music and you can choose other artists you have set up, or scroll down and select a more traditional ring tone.
Pro Tip 2: I like to pre-load my alarm music options at the same time, setting up alarms with different artists so I have things to choose from. That way, it’s easy to make some days Aretha mornings and others Otis Redding days.
