Check out the new Daylong Routines feature!
Running smart lights usually requires you to set up a series of routines—one to turn them on, one to turn them off later in the day.
But with new Daylong Routines, you can schedule a series of actions in a single routine over the course of the day—so you can keep turning the lights on and off or do other actions as you need them.
Here’s how to set it up:
- Open the Google Home app, and tap Routines
- Tap the + sign on the bottom right
- At the bottom of the screen, where it says “Want to schedule a Daylong Routine?” tap “Yes”
- Follow the prompts to choose which days you want the routine to run on, then set up different actions for different times of day
Pro Tip: You can have multiple actions at each time of day—so if you want to play the news, play the weather, and get the traffic report when you wake up in the morning at 7 a.m., you can add all of those to your routine—then move on to adding a workout (or your favorite song!) at 8 a.m.
