Just say, “Alexa, set timer volume to 7”
I use Alexa’s timer feature all the time—especially when I’m cooking. But between the whirring of the Cuisinart, the hum of the exhaust fan, not to mention people coming in and out, my kitchen can be a noisy place.
My hack: Turn up the volume on Alexa’s timer bell! Alexa allows you to set a volume for timers independently of whatever volume you use for everything else (like playing music, announcements, playing games and all the other stuff you do with Alexa).
I typically listen to music at a 3 or 4 volume, but I like something louder for my kitchen timers.
To change Alexa’s timer volume, just say “Alexa, set timer volume to 7” (you can go even louder if you want).
Pro Tip: If you’re going to be somewhere where you prefer a quieter timer bell, like a home office, you can readjust the setting by saying, “Alexa, set timer volume to 4” (or whatever volume you prefer).
