It’s pretty cool!
I used to think that setting up new smart home stuff (or shifting it to a new voice assistant) would be an involved process.
But Google Assistant is constantly looking for new smart devices on your wifi and automatically connecting to them.
So whenever you add a new smart light or plug, it’ll show up automatically on Google Assistant—with the name you previously gave it and assigned to the same group (or room) that you previously set up in the device’s app.
You can easily go into the Google Home app and scroll down on the homepage to see what devices Assistant has found, and how they’re grouped.
When you want to control them, you can just use intuitive commands like “Hey Google, turn on the living room light.”
