She can even help you find locations where you can get a specific one (like Pfizer, J&J or Moderna)
Getting a COVID vaccine is still tricky in some parts of the country, and Alexa is trying to help with the effort.
Say, “Alexa, where can I get a COVID vaccine?” and she will search for options near you based on the geographic location of your Echo.
She’ll then tell you places that offer vaccines that have them in stock, along with the distance from your house. My search included pharmacies like CVS and Walgreens, grocery stores including Safeway, Giant and Sam’s Club, and independent pharmacies.
If you have a specific vaccine that you prefer to get, you can ask for that, too. Just say, “Alexa, where can I get a J&J COVID vaccine?” and she’ll narrow her search to just that type.
She’ll also send an automatic notification to your Alexa app, with links to the various options and phone numbers so you can call them and set up an appointment.
Pro Tip: If you miss the notification and want to check on it later, that’s easy, too.
- Go to Alexa app and tap “More” on the bottom right.
- Scroll down and tap “Activity.”
- Under the Activity tab, you’ll see the links she sent to your query.
