Just say, “Alexa, play acoustic pop for an hour!”
Alexa’s most popular feature — playing music — can help keep you on schedule (in the most fun way possible).
You can now say “Alexa, play acoustic pop music for one hour,” and the music will automatically stop playing after an hour (or however long you’d like!).
When I want to spend an hour tidying up (but not the entire afternoon!), I just say these words, and when the music stops, that’s my signal to get up and do something else. It’s like an alarm clock, except your cue comes when the music stops!
Pro Tip #1: You can ask “Alexa, how much time is left on my music?” and she’ll let you know how much more time you have to play.
Pro Tip #2: This is also a great feature for people who like to fall asleep to background sounds—and it works for more than just music. Just say, “Alexa, play waterfall sounds (or dream time or bird sounds) for one hour,” and she’ll turn off after you drift off to sleep.
Pro Tip #3: This works for whatever music provider you use! (Not just for Amazon Music)
