If you have two Amazon Echo Show units, can you use them as a child monitor to watch children playing in another room?

Thanks for your question! Yes, potentially, you could do this. I would set up the Echo units on different Amazon accounts, and then use “Drop-In” calling to view the camera on the Echo device near the children.
However, this is not a perfect solution – the camera on the Echo Show is not very wide, so if the children are outside of the frame or the camera is not positioned correctly, you won’t be able to see what’s going on. In that case, a dedicated child monitoring system might be a better fit.

I use two Echo Shows to check in on my elderly parents (91 and 93 yrs old) during the pandemic. With their strict Danish background, they have coffee every day at 3pm. An 8″ show is sitting at the table in my usual spot and they are sitting there waiting for my call and we drink our coffee and catch up! It is very easy for them to manage touch-free better than using a smart phone or computer.
