Recently, I purchased an Alexa Echo Show and a Ring security kit, and have everything, including the WEMO devices, integrated with Alexa.
All seems to be working well so far, with the rules turning the plugs on or off at the appointed times, but Alexa letting me turn them on/off with voice commands when needed.
I can continue to control the plugs using the WEMO rules, or I can create Alexa routines to perform the same daily functions.
Are there any advantages to one approach over the other?
This is a good question! I am not familiar enough with WEMO rules to know the advantages and disadvantages, but I’d say that if you’re happy with the way your current setup is working, there’s no need to change things.
Sounds like things are functioning the way you want currently, so I hope it stays that way!

Thanks, Daniel. That was pretty much the way I was leaning, but being new to Alexa, I didn’t want to overlook anything.
