“Hey Google, what are some fun things to do near (location)?”

Things are starting to feel a little more normal — and the nice weather certainly helps too! 

If you’re itching to get out for some fun activities in your neighborhood, or maybe a short road trip away, ask “Hey Google, what are some fun things to do in (location)” and you’ll get some great recommendations. 

When I asked, Assistant reminded me of the cherry blossoms in a nearby park—which was a great Covid-friendly excursion—and a pretty waterfall a few towns over. Perfect for a nice Sunday afternoon 🙂

Pro Tip #1 

Some of the things Google Assistant recommended for me were not necessarily things everyone will be comfortable doing right now (e.g., it suggested going to the museum, but that’s not something that I feel good about doing right now), so be sure to pick and choose what’s right for you. 

Pro Tip #2 

Google Assistant did a better job sharing the ideas on the Google Nest display, where it provided more detailed information. In the Assistant app, it just listed out a few options I could click on without the helpful context.
